COLORED REQUEST FORMS: K-8
Going home with students is a packet of colored forms. These are our Request Forms from the district. Each child in kindergarten through 8th grade must have a packet filled out by the parents and returned to school by WEDNESDAY, September 9th.
These forms get us money from the school district to use towards textbooks/tests, health services, and guidance/counseling services. If you check YES, we receive money for the items. If you check NO, we will not receive money for that pupil.
We utilize the textbook money for purchasing all our workbooks and any needed textbooks for the year as well as testing programs. Health services support our district nurse that comes out to do eye and hearing tests, if you check NO for this your student/s will not get that testing done here at school.

Happy first week of school!!
This week is all about ME. God made us special and unique. We are talking about all the things God has blessed us with and how we can pray and thank him. We are learning about how to be a good friend and learning about our feelings. We are having a great week by singing songs, writing in sand, sticker fun, water color, and sharing about our summer time.

Welcome To All About Me/ Back to School Week
Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful summer!
Monday - We had a great first day of school! All the kiddos did AMAZING! We read books,
played, and sang songs. We also worked on our fine motor skills by matching and placing the circle stickers on the circles on our paper.
Tuesday - We learned how to use glue. We glued shapes onto the first letter of our names. We figured out that we don’t need a quarter-size amount of glue to help things stick. The phrase we learned was “Just a dot, not a lot.”
Wednesday- We learned how God made us all special in our own ways and made self-portraits of ourselves. We also learned about teamwork and played the game pass the cup. We started learning about our 5 classroom rules. Today we learned that we need to be responsible, clean up after ourselves, be good friends, and do what the teacher asks.
Thursday - We started working on our binder pages today; we colored our first-week-of-school picture. Then we started our second classroom rule; we learned about how to be kind to our friends.
Friday - We continued working on more binder pages, with our handprints and names. Show and share this week is their choice. They get to choose whatever they want to bring!

WELCOME BACK!
We've been back for three days now and we are quickly settling in. We are really working hard learning new routines and behaviors. We are also reviewing some of our preschool knowledge. Our core learning this week has been writing our first name neatly on lines. Where does each letter start? You mean they aren't all the same size? We have begun our church songs for this year. We have also made our very own Kindergarten time capsule. Keep an eye out for the K-only parent email 😊 Let the adventure begin!
Our 1st Bible lessons are God creates our beautiful world and God creates Adam and Eve memory treasure is Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth".
1-2nd: Mrs. Markgraf
Welcome to another school year!
Our class has 21 first and second graders. We are excited to learn so many new things. So far, we have focused on setting routines and expectations in our class community. The students have been getting to know one another as well. We have jumped right into our New Testament Bible stories. This week we are learning about Gabriel sharing good news with Zachariah and Mary and the story of John the Baptist being born. May God bless us all we live by the Spirit!
3-5th: Ms. Ewart
Happy first Wednesday of the school year!
In Christ Light, we are beginning to look at Bible stories from the New Testament. On Monday and Tuesday, we heard the story of the announcement of John the Baptist and Jesus. The rest of the week we will continue with the birth of John.
In math, we are working on number sense, place value charts, and number patterns. And we did an “All About Me” math activity in which students got to give different facts about themselves using only equations.
In Language Arts, we are learning about prepositions in all three grades. For Reading, we are reading different picture books to see what value they hold even for upper elementary students, and how they can help us understand and have empathy for others.
We will begin to learn about maps, communities and the globe in Social Studies to understand how to read a map and even create one of our own!
It has been a great couple of days and I can’t wait to see the blessings the second half of the week brings!
Have a great week!
6-8th: Mr. Holz
