PICK A DATE CALENDAR FUNDRAISER

Packets have been sent home!  Funds earned from this will go towards improvements or non-budgetary items. We invite all families to participate!

How it works: Ask family, friends, neighbors to pick a date on the calendar we are sending home. They then pay that amount. For example: if they chose the 13th, they would donate $13. They could choose multiple dates as well, 5th and 10th = donate $15…

There are also prizes for those that participate!

MARBLES & PUZZLES

Our teachers are looking for marbles and puzzles with smaller pieces for a project, if anyone has some they’d be willing to donate to us, please bring them into the office.

We are still practicing using our listening skills and following directions.

At the activity center we are working on the number 4 by building a number 4 puzzle and making a 4 with dinosaurs. Letter E activity by building it with big lines and little line magnets. Match the emotions game and Q-Tip game.

PREKINDERGARTEN (4): Mrs. Dragt

Welcome to friendship week!

For friendship week we read the book Meesah Makes Friends, and then made Friendship Soup by writing down things we can do or say to make friends or ways we can be good friends. We practiced writing our names by making name rainbows. In our large motor we worked on our kicking skills with Ms. Lokensgard’s class. We have future soccer players! In art we used different colors of tape and they created their own tape art! In STEAM we learned what happens when you color on tin foil with marker and then get it wet. Show and share this week is to bring in something blue! During our centers we are still working on matching those uppercase and lowercase letters and counting those kitty whiskers.

Hope you all have a blessed week!

Our Jesus story is: The Sneaky Snake Memory Treasure For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son. John 3:16

Kindergarten: Mrs. Eckstrand

This week, our Bible lesson is "Noah's Ark."  We learned that only Noah and his family were trusting and loving God. So God destroyed the world with a flood that even covered the mountains.  When they got off the ark, they immediately thanked and praised God.  God sent the first rainbow as a promise never to destroy the world with a flood again.  If you see one this week, take a picture and send it to us to share 😊 1 Timothy 2:4 (God) wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth... is our memory treasure for Friday.

In Reading this week, we worked on rhyming, grouping, counting words in a sentence, and beginning, middle, ending words/sounds. We also matched our uppercase letters with their lowercase partners.

In Math this week, we reviewed the numbers 11-15, and are writing them all in a number line.

In Phy Ed, we are working on aiming while throwing properly.  In Music, we finally have all the verses for our Church song and hymn, and started our Veteran's Day songs.  We will begin Geography next week.

1-2nd: Mrs. Markgraf

Greetings from 1st and 2nd grade!

This week we are tackling our computer tests which are called Measures of Academic Progress. These tests help us to track student growth over time both for individuals and for the school as a whole. Parents, please be aware that they give us only a small snapshot of your child’s knowledge and don’t speak at all to their character and spirit.

In addition to testing we are chugging along with our Superkids, reviewing letters, sounds and memory words for first grade and reviewing all different ways to spell long vowel sounds in second grade.

In phy-ed we are practicing all different kinds of movements and in art we are studying types of lines.

In our Bible stories this week we meet Abraham. He learns to trust God even when things are difficult. Our Memory Treasure is Psalm 37: Commit your way to the Lord. Trust in him, and he will act. God bless your week!

3-5th: Mrs. Horn

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

With MAP testing this week, our schedule looks a little different every day.

This week in Christ Light, we are learning about the Flood and the Tower of Babel. We see how God's hand is at work in both of these stories to protect and save his people.

In Math, 3rd grade is continuing with learning how to round numbers. 4th and 5th graders are reviewing content from chapter one as they prepare for their first test. We may also take time to practice and review our math facts. 😊

In Language Arts, 3rd and 4th graders are continuing to learn about reading skills and strategies and apply them to short stories. We are also spending some time in our Grammar books. 5th grade is continuing to read and discuss their novel Maniac Magee.
