ILLNESS
There has been an increased number of students across the area experiencing cold, flu, and other viral symptoms recently. While this is not uncommon during this time of year, we want to be proactive in reminding everyone of the essential steps we can take together to limit the spread of illness and keep our students and staff healthy.
Please monitor your child for the following symptoms, if your child exhibits these signs please keep them home: Fever – temperature of over 100.0 or higher, Cough – frequent or sever cough, Sore Throat – a painful, scratchy, or irritated throat, Vomiting or Diarrhea – any episodes should result in staying home, Headache or Body Aches – particularly when combined with other symptoms, Unusual Fatigue – feeling significantly more tired than normal.
Fever-Free Rule: Your child must be fever-free for a full 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications (Tylenol or Advil) before returning to school.
Vomiting/Diarrhea Rule: Your child must be free of vomiting or diarrhea for a full 24 hours before returning to school.
Please reinforce healthy practices such as handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, avoid touching face, good nutrition and sleep.
