VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE CHANGE:

Thursday, September 18th start time as been moved back slightly to allow for more travel time for Marshall.  The B-team game will now begin at 4:45 instead of 4:15 which means A-team will not start until around 5:30 or so.

We are looking for a referee for this game as our usual lady has a conflicting event.  If you know of anyone who'd be willing to ref, please let me know!

Pictures are scheduled for Tuesday, September 23rd for both volleyball and soccer.

PICK A DATE CALENDAR FUNDRAISER

Packets have been sent home!  Funds earned from this will go towards improvements or non-budgetary items. We invite all families to participate!

How it works: Ask family, friends, neighbors to pick a date on the calendar we are sending home. They then pay that amount. For example: if they chose the 13th, they would donate $13. They could choose multiple dates as well, 5th and 10th = donate $15…

Fill out the information on the front of the envelope for types of payment you would like to accept. We request that you have individuals pay you and then either provide cash or one check written out to Immanuel PTF.

MARBLES & PUZZLES

Our teachers are looking for marbles and puzzles with smaller pieces for a project, if anyone has some they’d be willing to donate to us, please bring them into the office.

PREKINDERGARTEN (4): Mrs. Dragt

Welcome to pet week!

This week we started working on our centers! We have been matching dog collars to the correct dog by matching uppercase and lowercase letters and counting by putting the correct number of whiskers on the kitty face! Another fun thing we started this week is our new curriculum Heggerty. During our Heggerty time we are learning Phonemic Awareness. They really love the rhyming part!

On Tuesday we continued to work on our pre-writing skills by making diagonal lines. Our STEAM activity this week is to make scribble art! After we read the fun book “I’m Not a Scribble. “

In one of our large groups’ activities, we will be working on what is good behavior and what is bad behavior in school.

I know they already love to tell me about their pets but show and share on Friday is bring in a picture of your pet!

God’s Blessing on your week!

Our Jesus story is: God Fills OurWorld!

Memory Treasure …it was very good. Genesis 1:31

Kindergarten: Mrs. Eckstrand

This week our Bible lesson was "Cain's sin, God's love."  We learned that Cain did not love and trust in God.  He became angry and killed his brother Able.  God loved Cain and gave him lots of chances to confess his sin.  Cain did not, so his punishment was to wander the earth, and his fields would not be plentiful.  God did not take Cain's life. Instead, he loved him and allowed him to live so that he could repent of his sin.  Luke 11:28 But he said, "Even more blessed are those who hear the word and keep it" is our memory treasure for Friday.

In Math, we have reviewed and written the numbers 5-9.  We have also worked on left and right, and patterns.

In Reading, we are still reviewing basic skills like rhyming and following lines like we follow sentences.  We also sorted into some groups and had nursery rhymes.

We continue to remember routines, and rules.  One rule we are really working hard on is "Keeping your hands to yourself."  No one should be hanging on anyone. We do not give hugs or high fives without their permission.  Please go over this with your children also 😊

1-2nd: Mrs. Markgraf

Greetings from 1st and 2nd grade!

We are continuing to learn how to be awesome learners and classmates.

We have been learning about trusting in God's plan through our stories of The Flood and The Tower of Babel. Our Memory Treasure this week is Isaiah 43:11, I, yes I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior.

In Reading we have been catching up with our Superkids friends. They are characters in our reading books that help us learn about reading and writing. This week we're reviewing ideas from previous grades like letter formation and long and short vowels.

In Math both classes are focusing on place value.

God bless your week!

3-5th: Mrs. Horn

Hello Parents, Students, and Families,

We're already halfway done with the first full week of school!

In Word of God this week, we are reminded of the promise of a Savior that God gave to his people after Adam and Eve sinned. We are studying the story of Cain and Abel.

In Math, 3rd and 4th graders are learning how to compare numbers. We are also learning how to order numbers from least to greatest and greatest to least. 5th graders are working on rounding numbers to the nearest given place value. We are also learning how rounding numbers helps us add and subtract large numbers a little more easily.

In Language Arts, 3rd and 4th graders are beginning a unit on short stories. We will read one short story a week and learn how to apply different reading skills and strategies. 5th graders are starting a novel study on Maniac Magee. We will discuss characters, setting, plot, word definitions, summaries, and so much more.

In Science, we are continuing our study of living and nonliving things.

In Social Studies, we are diving deeper into our study of regions, states, and capitals by learning about the Northeast region first.

Memory Work this week is John 3:16 and Romans 6:23.

All grades are on Lesson 2 for spelling this week. The spelling list is taped into assignment notebooks so you can practice at night! Encourage your child to study those words so they are ready for the test on Friday.

I'm praying that God keeps you and your family safe this week and always.
