This week we had 2 bible lessons: God chooses Moses, and God Parts the Red Sea. We learned that through a burning bush God chose Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. After 10 terrible plagues Pharaoh finally let them go but changed his mind after they left. They chased after the Israelites and thought the trapped them against the Red Sea. However God delivered the Israelites by splitting the Red Sea, and the Israelites crossed over of dry ground. Pharaoh and his armies were destroyed in the sea when they tried to follow on the ground. Psalm 50:15 Call upon me in the day of distress. I will deliver you, and you will honor me is our memory treasure this week.
In Reading, we were making our uppercase and lower case Ss just right. We've been sounding out and sliding our words together using our arm slides.
In Math, we made the number 6-10 just right and counting numbers into 100 now. Remember we don't say and in a number when counting. 😊
Our Carrots are ready for picking; we hope to see you this Friday. 😊

It's show week! The students are so excited to show you their hard work. This week we also honored military service members at our Veterans Day program. Thank you to all who have served!
In addition to all the excitement, we have managed to sneak in some classes. In reading, first graders are wrapping up words with "wh" and "sh" and will next think about the two sounds that "th" makes like in the words think and that. Second graders will think about adding -ed to words.
In math first graders have started a chapter that works with numbers up to 20. Second graders are very excitedly studying length measurements starting with centimeters and meters.
Our Bible lessons are wrapping up the many parts of Joseph's life and next we focus on Moses, which ties in great to our play. On to the book of Exodus! Our Memory Treasure teaches us in Psalm 124:8, Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
