CALL RETURNED

Dear Members of Immanuel Grace Lutheran School,

On Sunday, October 26, you, the members of Immanuel Grace Lutheran School, extended a divine call to me to serve as your 3rd through 5th-grade teacher. Over the past few weeks, it has been a blessing to look at and reassess my gifts and where they best fit. After thoughtful prayer and consideration, the Lord has led me to return the call extended to me to teach in Hutchinson, Minnesota. It has been a joy to learn about the ministry and growth at Immanuel Grace. I know the Lord will continue to bless and grow the ministry being done in Hutchinson. I will keep Immanuel Grace in my prayers as you resume the call and work to fill this position.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

In Christ’s Service,

Kiernan Handy

Our Jesus story is David Plays for the King. Memory Treasure: Praise the LORD with the harp. Psalm 33:2

Practice singing it with your child (Tune: London Bridges Falling Down)

Praise the Lord with the harp

With the harp, with the harp

Praise the Lord with harp

Psalm 33:2

Kindergarten: Mrs. Eckstrand

This week we learned 2 more bible lessons.  God feeds the Israelites and God gives the 10 commandments.  We learned that even though Israel complained in the desert, God still cared for them.  He provided manna (means "what is it") in the morning and quail at night.  Then as they wandered the desert, they came to Mount Sinai.  There God gave the Israelites 10 commandments (rules) that they were to follow to show their love for God.  We too get cared for everyday by God's blessings of food, house, and clothes.  We are beyond blessed.  We want to show God our love by following his commandments too.  Psalm 119:105 Your Word is a lamp for my feet, and a light for my path is our memory treasure this week.

In Reading, we had a soccer surprise with Sal and Mya in their story.  We are blending sounds on our arm slides and we are beginning to break words apart into sounds.  We will be finishing Unit 2 and taking a test before Thanksgiving.

In Math, we are working on Ordinal positions/words.  We will be finishing Ch 3 and taking a test.

In Social Studies, we learned about the Edmund Fitzgerald sinking and listened to the song.

In Music, we are learning to find and stay on the beat in any song.

In Writing, we are writing our numbers from 11-30...and beyond.  We are learning how to write the date.

Thank you for coming and enjoying their "Carrot Seed”. They were so excited to show you all, and to finally keep their carrots!

1-2nd: Mrs. Markgraf

After the amazing success of the musical, we are settling nicely back into our routines and working hard. In our language classes we are finishing up our previous chapter. Together we will study an informational text about wild versus domestic animals. Then we will learn about using a Venn diagram to compare and contrast dogs and wolves.

Second graders are wrapping up their very exciting chapter on measuring length and will then continue on to measuring weight. First graders are stretching their brain to think about how we can manipulate numbers to make easier groupings. 8+3=10+1

In our Bible lessons it's been fun to learn about the actual account of Moses compared to our play. We've noticed that the play left out some details, but God's Word is always true. Our Memory Treasure for Friday is, Psalm 37:5 Commit your way to the Lord. Trust in him, and he will act.

Since there will not be notes from teachers next week, I'll say it now: May God bless your Thanksgiving!

3-5th: Mrs. Horn

Parents, Students, Families, and Friends,

Happy Wednesday!

In Reading, we are continuing to read The Wild Robot. We have lots of good discussion about the book and are learning different things about the author’s style of writing.

In Social Studies, we are finishing up the Midwest region and will start the Western region soon.

In Phy Ed, we are learning and playing different relay games and understanding how we need to work together as a team.
