Is sent out weekly on Wednesdays, this normally will include a short summary of the week’s classroom activities from each teacher (what they are learning or working on) as well as reminders of upcoming events.
There is no school on Monday, September 4th for Labor Day.

5-8 GRADE DROP-OFF
Just a reminder that the upper graders should be dropped off at the school, not at the church. An aid walks them over at 8:55, if a child will be later than 8:55 please take them straight to the church south side back door.
Has been going well! We had a hiccup with serving Monday but Tuesday went smoothly. Please remember we try to follow the Hutchinson Public Schools lunch menu (West Elementary) but there are a few items that logistically won’t work so we may have some days that are different. Such as today, instead of pizza they will be having breaded chicken sandwiches. This also goes for breakfast/snack items, we will not have any hot items for breakfast just grab-n-go type foods.
If you know your child will not like the main menu item for lunch you may pack a sandwich and they can still have all the side items or you can pack a cold lunch.
Have been handed out to students on Back-To-School night or on the first day of school.
Is scheduled for Friday, September 15th. Get those haircuts and outfits!
Preschool parents: if you do not have your child signed up to come this day you can either bring your child between 9:30-10:00 just for pictures, or please let Miss Lokensgard know as soon as possible if you would like to add this day to your child’s preschool calendar.
Our next PTF Meeting is Monday, September 11th at 6:30.
All are welcome to attend! PTF is our Parent/Teacher/Friends group that coordinates fundraising opportunities, social events, and support for our school and teachers. We meet monthly on the second Monday of the month.
PARENT DRIVE DAYS
We have several of these throughout the school year as the public school takes more professional development days. Our first one is Friday, September 29th. There will be no bussing this day so please plan accordingly.

VOLLEYBALL & SOCCER
Practice begins next Tuesday, September 5th at the Hutchinson Fair Grounds for volleyball and here at the school for soccer. The informational sheet and info have been emailed to parents. We have the schedule on the monthly calendar that is emailed out with the weekly newsletter and also on the website - www.hutchinsonlutheranschoo.com which also has the locations listed if you click on the game.

Check Sign-up for any days that you are available and for the quantity please put how many players you can take in your vehicle. We have about 15 students per sport so we will need up to 4-5 vehicles for each practice/game.

We are asking for $20.00 a player. The fee is used to pay for refs, tournaments, field rentals, shirts, and balls. This fee must be paid before a child can practice. Make checks out to ILS.
FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE MEETING
As Pastor Devries mentioned at the opening ceremony on Sunday, we are starting our 2nd phase of fundraising for the new school building. We are asking for your help in reaching out to your families and friends to share the good news about the new school building and see if they would be interested in donating to our school building to help lift the financial load of the building project. There is an option to donate a onetime pledge a commitment over a 3-year period. The details can be found on Page 3 of the letter.
There is no better advocate for the mission work that is being done at our school then you, our school families!
I have attached a letter you can print, email or mail to your families or friends. There are also copies in the lobby of the school.
If you would like to serve on our fundraising committee, our next meeting will be Wednesday, September 13th at 6:30 in the meeting room at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Please join us!

For those that are new to the school, Builders for Christ is the organization that is helping build our new building. They come from all over the US and from all walks of life to build churches and schools all around the country. In order to keep costs down they ask that we supply drinks (water/Gatorade), snacks, and lunches Tuesday-Saturday. Below is a link to volunteer to bring lunch for our builders. Please sign up for days that you will be able to supply lunch for our builders. The school is looking great and a lot of work has been done so far! Thank you to all who helped with the August lunches!
