IGLS will be walking in the Water Carnival Parade on Sunday, June 15th. A sign-up will be sent for those who’d like to participate, we have a truck for a couple smaller students to sit in but the majority of volunteers will walk the entire parade and hand out pencils/candy.

PRESCHOOL (3): Miss Lokensgard
Rain, rain, go away. It's the last week of school. This week was turned upside down because of the weather. Our activity centers this week we found letters in beans, practiced our cutting, made popsicle puzzles, and played an ice cream number game.
On Monday we did bubbles in the “tornado” winds. We also practiced writing our letters and numbers in sand.
Tuesday, we had a lot of fun playing indoor games during the monsoon and painted with Q-Tip’s and painted with bubbles.
Wednesday we are having our last show-n-share and our last name activity.
Thursday we are going to learn all about wind. We are planning on playing outside most of the day; playing with chalk, following the leader and flying kites.
On Friday we will be going to Litchfield Park for our last field trip on the last day of school.
PRESCHOOL (4): Mrs. Dragt
This is crazy, but welcome to the last week of school!
Monday- We worked on writing our letters in shaving cream and made a scroll with our favorite Bible verses on it.
Tuesday- We had a letter search in Orbeez and painted a picture with yarn.
Wednesday. We earned another monster, so our reward is walking in a big tub of Orbeez and making dirt cake. We counted and worked on our number recognition with a hula hoop ball game. Show and share brought something in that reminds you of your favorite summer activity.
Thursday—I'm hoping the weather cooperates so we can make and fly kites. We will also have our last balloon and glow stick party!
Friday- LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! We will be heading to Lake Ripley Park in Litchfield!
Our Jesus story is Timothy Learns About Jesus Memory treasure … continue in what you have learned. 2 Timothy 3:14
Have a fantastic summer!!!
K-1st: Mrs. Eckstrand
This week we are reviewing all of our Bible lessons, as well as the memory treasures. We are finishing our Math books with time and money in both grades. In Reading we are jumping around doing all the activities that we can. We are cleaning out our desks a day at a time to avoid too heavy of a book bag on the final day. We look forward to a strong finish and a great summer.
Thank you for supporting your children and teachers this year. School goes a lot easier when we are all on the same team, and rooting for every child's success. May God bless all of your families as the summer begins. As always, reach out if you need anything or have any questions even during the summer months... The reply might just take a day or two 😉
2-4th: Mr. Loersch
Hello Parents and Students!
In God's Word this week, we're learning about Jesus's ascent into heaven and the disciples being sent out to spread the news at Pentecost. We'll learn how the command from Jesus to spread the Gospel applies to us, too.
In Language Arts, 2nd graders are wrapping up SuperKids for the year. We're learning about capitalizing titles and using adjectives. 3rd and 4th graders are doing a cumulative project on Because of Winn-Dixie.
In Math, 2nd grade is learning to tell time, then reviewing content. 3rd grade had a geometry test; now we are reviewing. 4th graders learned about decimals and are now reviewing. We want the knowledge we learned this year to stick around over the summer!
In Social Studies, we're presenting our road trip Google Slides presentations.
3rd and 4th graders have their spelling bee this week. 2nd graders have their last spelling test.
Memory work packets are due for May! Please turn those in. Students will receive report cards to bring home on the last day of school.
This summer, PLEASE make sure your student is reading and reviewing math flashcards! If you don't practice those skills for 3 months, August will be a very tough transition. Our goal is to retain as much as possible and continue building, especially with independent reading. I recommend 30 minutes of required reading per day.
Over the weekend, I received a call from the MLC Assignment Committee to teach grade 8 and begin the Principal Training Program at Star of Bethlehem Lutheran School in New Berlin, WI. I am so thankful for everyone in our school, especially you parents. I will miss Hutchinson, and I will miss my class. Please keep me in your prayers as I help Ms. Hope Sulzle transition into the role of 3rd-5th grade teacher next year.
God's blessings on your week!
5-8th: Mr. Holz
Hello Parents, Family and Friends
This week is a week of wrap-up, clean-up, and fun! So far this week we have wrapped up Math, Spelling, Handwriting, and Grammar. We have so far played GeoGuesser to see which class could beat Mr. Holz (the 7th Graders did!) We also completed an escape room where we worked through 6 different rides at Disneyland using puzzles and clues to escape. For the rest of the week, we will be working on a group art project, a Spelling Bee, and lots of outdoor activities if the weather ever behaves.
