PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
K-8th grade will be March 30-April 1st. Preschool will be on a later date. It is very important that the parents and teachers feel free to openly discuss any concerns or questions concerning the child’s education. At least one parent is expected to come to these meetings to discuss the progress of their child. At times during the year, the teacher may request a special conference with the parents, just as the parents may request a conference with the teacher.
A sign-up will be emailed to schedule a meeting. If you have more than one student in a classroom, please select one slot per child. If a day or time slot doesn't work for you, please contact the teacher directly to set up a conference.
ART & CHESS CLUB (Grades 3-8)
Next Date: Wednesday, March 25th 3:00 – 4:30. These dates are listed on the monthly calendar.

FIVE BELOW FUNDRAISER DAYS
You’re invited to a fundraising shopping event! March 22nd – 28th, 10AM-8PM each day. 10% of the purchases made by members will be donated back to IGLS. A flyer will be sent home with each student, bring this flyer to the store and present it to a WOW CREW member at the time of purchase – It’s simple!
PRESCHOOL (3): Miss Lokensgard
It’s weather week in the preschool room. We are learning all about the different weather and what to wear during the different weathers. The Science table is set up with eye droppers with colored water into cotton balls and into poppet sockets. The sensory table is filled with water to make rain. Throughout the week we will be doing fun activities that focus on the weather. The circle time board has a matching weather game. We are focusing on the letter Kk and the triangle shape.
Tuesday- Writing Center: Spelling our name with a rainbow. Activity Center: Making the letter Kk book.
Wednesday- Writing Center: Learn how to draw weather in our scribble scrabble unit. Activity Center: Make a triangle collage.
Thursday- Writing Center: Letter Kk phonics page. Activity Center: Make rain for our art activity.
Friday- (Learning about Spring) Writing Center: Roll the dice game. Activity Center: Making small leaves for our classroom tree.
Our bible story this week is Jesus turns water into wine. Our memory treasure is, God has heard my prayer. Psalm 66:19.

Monday - SNOW DAY!!!
Tuesday - In art, we made palm branches for our Jesus story this week! We will be marching
around the classroom shouting, “Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest!” We also worked on making
the number 18. The number 8 is definitely tricky, but they got it!
Wednesday - In our centers, we played Write the Room. I hid letters all over the room, and
they had to go around to find them and write them down. In our large motor, we are going to
play musical hoops. It's like musical chairs but with hula hoops.
Thursday - We worked on making the letter K. In our STEAM activity, we made a rain cloud!
We learned what causes rain to fall from the sky.
Friday - We did a new, fun, and messy activity for our centers. We wrote our numbers in
shaving cream!
Our Jesus story is Blessed is the King. Memory Treasure: Hosanna in the highest. Matthew 21:9

This week our Bible Lesson is all about Zaccheaus. He was a wee little man, who climbed a tree just to see Jesus. Jesus then went to his house for a meal. Zaccheaus believed in Jesus and changed his sinful behavior. 1 Timothy 1:15b Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst is our memory treasure this week.
In Reading, we will be taking our Unit 6 assessment, and we met Ettabetta. She likes exceptional puzzles and games.
In Math, we will be taking our Ch 6 assessment and will be starting to add together and pull apart numbers up to 10.
We will be sharing our Nibbles adventures, so keep him traveling and sending in pictures. It's been fun to hear from the kids how well behaved they've both been.
We have been learning our mom's phone numbers, and our addresses are coming soon. 😊
1-2nd: Mrs. Markgraf
Welcome back, everyone! I hope you all had a relaxing spring break. We even got a bonus day! 🙂
This week we are finishing the third quarter strong. In first grade reading we are learning more about contractions with the word "not". Have you thought about how we get "won't" from "will not"? There is a long etymological history to explain that one. Second grade also learning about contractions as well as the schwa sound.
In math the second graders are continuing to study money by making change and comparing. The first graders are honing their skills in place value of numbers up to 100.
Since there are more Word of God stories left than weeks of the school year, we will be doing three new stories some weeks. This week we are learning Eli and his Wicked Sons, Saul Becomes King and Saul Disobeys God. Our Memory Treasure is the Fourth Commandment: Honor your father and mother, that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.
God bless your week!
3-5th: Mrs. Horn
