Mrs. Eckstrand’s Room

This week our Jesus Story is “One Man Gives Thanks”, we learned that Jesus healed 10 lepers but only one said thank you. We need to remember that God loves everyone and because he loves us, we should say thank you!

Our Science this week is learning What Makes Up Earth. For Art we will be making our own sculptures. In Movement we are sharpening our bowling skills to be ready for next week. Keep watching for Nibbles to come home and return him the next day you make it to school.

Don’t forget to let me know any schedule changes for next week.

Wednesday all children will need their CAR SEATS whether booster or 5 point and SOCKS to go to Wheel & Cog. Thursday they will need socks for bowling.

Preschool: Our number this week is 16. Long line down then down and curl, 16 what a whirl. Our letter this week is Tt for Tower, Turtle, and Train.

Reminder–Next Wednesday’s morning pick up is 12:00 to make sure the “bus” arrives back.

Kindergarten: This week in Reading we finished Fritz and met Ettebette “Ee” sounds all around. In Math we are learning the number words for 11-20 as well as making sure we have them in order. We also took our computer MAP tests for reading & math.

Mrs. Utsch’s Room

In 1st grade Math we added and subtracted tens, used a hundred chart to add, and showed addition with tens and ones. In Reading we associated final y with the long e and long i sound, and associated ay with the long a sound, and read the story “In Case of Rain”.

The next spelling test will be Wednesday, February 23rd.

In 2nd grade Math we added and subtracted 3-digit numbers with regrouping and subtracted 3-digit numbers with zeros. In Reading we decoded words with the long a spelled -ey, -ay, ange, and eigh, used context clues to understand the meaning of words, used adjectives and adverbs in sentences, and recognized the present, past, and future tenses of verbs.

In 3rd grade Math we used fractions to measure length and we compared fractions. In Reading we are reading “The One and Only Ivan” by Katherine Applegate.

In Religion we learned about The Fall of Jericho. God blessed the Israelites by giving them the city of Jericho, God blesses those who have faith in him. We also learned about Achan’s sin and that he was punished for his sin. God hates sin and warns us about it in his Word.
