CALL for 3-5th grade teacher:

A call meeting was held on Sunday, October 26th and the decision was made to extend a call to Ms. Keirnan Handy for the 2026/2027 school year for grades 3-5. She currently is serving at Peace Lutheran School in Sun Prairie, WI. Please keep her in your prayers as she deliberates where best to serve.

For those that are not aware, Mrs. Horn was only assigned to teach here for this school year.  If you are new to the WELS teacher system a call is the process by which we offer a job position to a qualified candidate, they then consider if that position would be the best fit for their skills and talents and based on that decide to accept or return (decline) the position.

Kindergarten: Mrs. Eckstrand

This week our Bible lesson is Baby Moses.  We learn that a terrible Pharaoh made a terrible rule to kill baby boys.  One Israelite mom chose to follow God's rules.  She hid her baby in a basket in the Nile.  Miriam his sister stayed to watch him.  Pharaoh's Daughter found him and his OWN MOM got to raise him until about 5 when he went to the Palace and was raised to become a Pharaoh.  1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.

In Math we are counting and breaking apart and putting together numbers 6-10.

In Reading, we have finished our adventures with Adam and are moving on to Sport with Sal.  We are also starting to blend sounds together to make words and read words.

In Science, we aer finishing with our senses.  In Geography, we are following and moving with the directions on a map.

Thank you to all who came to sing.  We look forward to Friday the 14th for our Big School Performance Night 😊

1-2nd: Mrs. Markgraf

This week students have been working extra hard to prepare for their musical on the 14th. Shout-out to Mrs. Eckstrand and Mrs. Horn for all of the work that they have been doing to put on an awesome show.

In reading this week first graders are focusing on words with wh and sh. Second graders have words that make the "hissing" sound like a snake and the "buzzing" sound like a bee. Have you ever stopped to think how often the letter s makes the buzzing sound like a z? We sure have!

Both groups are wrapping up chapters in math and excited to keep growing their brains.

We are coming to the end of our journey with Joseph in our Bible lessons and we see that God is so faithful and good! We are memorizing Ephesians 4:32, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ has forgiven us." Blessings!

3-5th: Mrs. Horn

Parents, Students, Families, and Friends,

In Christ Light, we are finishing the story of Joseph and how he became ruler in Egypt. We've talked about how his brothers first treated him and how they changed to show love to Joseph. This reminds us to always show love to our family and friends, because God loved us first.

In Math, 3rd grade is working on multiplication. 4th grade is working on division. 5th grade is starting to learn algebra concepts and working on writing and solving algebraic expressions.

In Language Arts, 3rd grade is reviewing subject, verb, and prepositional phrases. 4th grade is working on identifying entire verb phrases in sentences as well as still identifying other parts of speech. 5th grade is also identifying parts of speech in sentences.

In Social Studies, we are studying the states and capitals of the Midwest region of the US.

Finally, we are counting down the days until our big musical performance. Come see the story of Moses brought to life on November 14th.

Thanks for your continued support and encouragement at home. May God continue to keep you in his loving care.

Forensics is a speech competition, the students have been practicing for the last several weeks on their demonstrations, short skits, or dramatic readings and they will be judged and receive ribbons.

We are looking for drivers to take the kids down and back as well as an additional judge.

If you are available to drive, please let me know how many students you can take in your vehicle.
