The bake sale will begin at 5:45 and go until all items are sold.
FORENSICS: 5-8th Grade
Our annual Forensics competition down at MLC in New Ulm is coming up on November 21st. We usually leave at 1:00, forensics begins at 3:00 and students will not return until the evening.
For those that don't know what forensics it is basically a speech competition where the students have been practicing for the last several weeks their demonstrations, short skits, or dramatic readings and they will be judged and receive ribbons.
Students and chaperones will be able to eat in the MLC cafeteria before they leave campus.
Parents will be notified with pickup time when they are leaving. Students should be picked up at IGLS.
NO SCHOOL
Thanksgiving break is just around the bend! We do not have school Wednesday, November 27th through Friday, November 29th.
LOCKED DOOR POLICY - Update
In order to have a more secure building during latchkey hours starting Friday, November 15th the INSIDE door (second door) will be locked. The outer door will still be open as usual. In order to gain entry into the building you will need to ring the doorbell by the secretary’s office door, this will ring in the Latchkey room and a caregiver will unlock the left inner door that everyone uses, it is generally unlocked for several seconds. You will be able to talk to the Latchkey caregiver through the camera if needed.
The doors will no longer be open all morning/afternoon during latchkey hours. There will still be a window of time in the morning and afternoon that the doors are unlocked for parents to drop-off and pick-up like normal. Once the inner door locks you will need to use the call button to gain entry.
PAY THE DAY FUNDRAISER
I have additional calendars in the office if you fill yours up! These are due by the end of the month but can be brought in at any time!
Thanksgiving break would be a great time to get donations from all those relatives…
PRESCHOOL CALENDARS
Coming home with students are the December, January, and February calendars. Please fill them out with what days your child will be attending preschool and return them to school no later than Monday, November 18th so we may start scheduling appropriately.

This week our Bible lesson is Moses leads God's people through the Red Sea. We learned that after 10 plagues Pharaoh let the Israelites go. God led them with cloud and fire. Then Pharaoh changed his mind and chased them down. When stuck between Pharaoh's Army and the Red Sea, they cried to God for help. God split the Red Sea and allowed the Israelites to cross it on DRY LAND. The Israelites praised God when they were safely on the other side. God wiped out Pharaoh and his army when he returned the waters to the sea. Psalm 50:15 Call upon me in the day of distress, I will delivery you, and you will honor me is the memory treasure this week.
In Reading, the 1st grade is hitting the 5W question words hard, they won't soon forget them. Kindergarten met Alf, who loves adventures, especially in the Amazon and Africa. He loves Anteaters who eat the pesky Ants.
In Social studies we are learning about America's symbols, what they mean, and where we can see many of them. We enjoyed the Veteran’s Day program and got to meet the men who served.
I hope you're ready for Friday, because these cowboys and girls are raring to go! Saddle up!!!!
Small change, we will send the clothing part of the costume home Friday after school... come dressed in costume. We will add accessories at the church.
