Welcome To Farm Week

Focus Wall

Letter: Cc

Number: 3

Color: Yellow

Shape: Triangle

Monday - We worked on making the number three. Our poem for making the number 3 is

“Around the tree, around the tree, that's the way we make a 3.” We also learned about position words. We had pumpkins, and the kiddos had to place the pumpkin in the position I said. (on, in, near, right, left)

Tuesday - Field Trip to Nelson Farm! We all had a great time!

Wednesday- Show and share is their choice. I’m excited again to see what they will bring! We

continue working on our names. This time we are making a farm puzzle out of the letters of our names

Thursday - We started splitting up into separate centers. One group worked on ABC’s, the

other worked on numbers. Then we rotated. In our numbers center, we counted eggs (beans) to match the number on the chicken coop, then put the eggs in the coop.

Friday - We worked on making the letter Cc. We also made a farm picture by placing the farm

animals in the right positions, as I told them to.

Our Jesus story: Jesus Blesses the Children. Memory Treasure “Let the little children come to me.”

Mark 10:14

KINDERGARTEN: Mrs. Eckstrand

This week in our Bible lesson we met Jacob. Jacob is Isaac's son. Jacob lied to his father and mother, his twin brother Esau angry.  This caused Jacob to need to run away. While he was traveling, he had a beautiful dream. God reminded Jacob even in tough times He promises to be with us always. Matthew 20:23b "and surely I will be with you always to the end of the age."

In Reading, we are still adventuring with Adam.   We are adding more phonics friends to our routine, and starting to segment words.

In Math, we are writing and counting numbers 1 to 5. 2 and 3 are tricky!

Dr. Science has delivered 2 boxes to us!  The first one came with our very own Science lab coats, glasses, and Dr. Science Professor badges. The second came with a gummy worm experiment. Will they melt, explode, or come alive and crawl out?

1-2nd: Mrs. Markgraf

Greetings Immanuel Grace families!

This week our class is working hard as we look forward to our field trip on Friday to the apple orchard.  In math first graders are wrapping up their unit on number bonds and taking a test. Second graders are learning multiple strategies for addition and subtraction.

In reading first graders are learning blends with "r". Second graders are adding words with "ng" and "nk" to their phonics toolbox.

Our Bible lessons this week are Jesus' First Miracle and Jesus Heals the Official's Son. In these miracles we learn that Jesus is the Son of God. Our Memory Treasure is 1 Peter 5:7, Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you. Be encouraged that God reminds all of us to cast our worries on him!

3-5th: Ms. Ewart

Hello parents, friends, and family!

This week in Word of God, we're learning about the beginning of Jesus' ministry - his temptations in the wilderness and his first miracle at the wedding in Cana. Our memory treasure is the Second Article of the Apostles' Creed, which tells us exactly what we believe about Jesus and what he has done for us. Ask your child to say it for you at home this week!

In math, third grade is working on addition and subtraction word problems, fourth grade is beginning Chapter 4 (multiplication concepts), and fifth grade is reviewing long division.

In Language Arts, all grades are continuing their novel studies, and we're working on the parts of speech in grammar.

God's blessings on your week!

6-8th: Mr. Holz
