Here is all you need to do to participate:

1.  Sign up.

2.  Send form emails inviting family, friends and co-workers to support your child.

3.  Return the Book Buddy Lanyard with the Student Prize Code to school for your child to get their fun participation prize.

PRESCHOOL (3): Miss Lokensgard

This week we are learning all about animals that like to live in the cold Arctic weather.  Our standard that we are learning is how to measure things with different shape blocks. Tuesday, we got to make volcanoes as our reward and had a snowball fight with our indoor snowballs. Our focus wall this week is the letter Gg, number 8, shape rectangle, and the color blue.

PREKINDERGARTEN (4): Mrs. Dragt

This week's show and share is their choice. I'm excited, they usually bring in some good ones!

Friday- We worked on making the big number 12.

Our Jesus story is Love your Neighbor. Memory Treasure: Love your neighbor as yourself. Luke 10:27

KINDERGARTEN: Mrs. Eckstrand

This week our Bible lesson is "Jesus is Baptized”. We learned that Baptism washes away our sins and God has adopted us to be his children.  He sent Jesus at just the right time to be born and to start His ministry here on Earth.  Galatians 4:4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son to be born of a woman is our memory treasure this week.

In Reading we met Golly, who loves the smell of /g/arbage.  We will be taking our Unit 4 test as well.

In Math, we are measuring weight and capacity, then we will test on all our measurements.

We are finishing up our quarter 2 assessments and the report cards will be coming home very soon.  Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

1-2nd: Mrs. Markgraf

Greetings! We are back to normal classes after testing last week. It is amazing to see the students grow in so many different ways. This week our reading and spelling are continuations of last week with first grade unlocking a whole new set of "Super e" words. Ask them to show you their imaginary Super e cape. Second grade is exploring dialogue punctuation as well as reading about the Superkid friends going on a field trip.

After a few chapters about some non-arithmetic concepts, first graders are diving back into some more calculations by learning about subtraction as comparing. "If there are 10 1st graders and 7 2nd graders, how many more first graders are there?" Second grade is finishing their chapter on multiplying and dividing by 2, 5 and 10 and will move next into mental calculations.

Our Bible lessons are two more new stories to these students. We are learning about how God disciplines those who do not give glory to him. We see this when Moses did not speak to the rock to get water, God's people continuing to complain about the food he provides and Balaam and his donkey. (If you haven't heard about Balaam and his talking donkey in a while, check it out in Numbers 22.) John 3:16 is our Memory Treasure for Friday.

3-5th: Mrs. Horn

Hello Parents, Students, and Families!

This week in Christ Light, we are learning about Balaam and how God used him to carry out his will. And finally, we hear that after their long journey in the desert, the Israelites enter the promised land. We are reminded of the promised land that we have waiting for us in heaven.

In Math, 3rd grade is working on their multiplication facts. 4th grade is starting a chapter on graphs. 5th grade is finishing up a chapter on multiplying decimals and whole numbers together.

In Language Arts, 3rd grade is studying contractions. 4th grade is working on identifying different types of verbs. 5th grade is practicing writing with details.

In Science, we are discussing weathering, erosion, and different types of rocks.

Stay warm and God's blessings on your week!
